OBITUARY

Mr. Albert Pace III, was born in Cedartown, (Polk County) GA, on July 9,1933, to the loving parents of the late Mrs. Bulah Mae Pace and Mr. Albert Pace, Jr. He was reared on a farm in the Young Station Community and attended the Young Station Schools in Cedartown (Polk County), GA.
He was married to the former Jeanette (Sherfield) Pace on July 17, 1954. To this union were three children: Joseph M. Pace, Gina Pace, and Marcia Pace.
Albert was employed at the Cedartown Foundry for a number of years. In 1965, he moved to Columbus, OH. While Columbus was where Albert resided for the past 49 years, he always had a passion for his hometown Cedartown, GA., especially as long as his mother who he fondly referred to as “Miss Bulah” was still alive. Even after her passing, he still had a love for Cedartown, where he often visited his family and friends who remained there.
While living in Columbus, he was employed with various companies such as Welch’s Plastic, Ohio Wire, and Ohio State Hospital, working for several years until his health declined.
Without a doubt, family was particularly important to him. He was affectionately known as “Daddy” or “Dad” by his children, grandchildren and great-grand-children to which he doled out unconditional love. Albert was hospitable and warm spirited. Through the years, if and when there was indeed a great need for family accommodations, he always assisted and generously opened his home.
He departed his life on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at his residence in Columbus, OH following an illness.
Albert was preceded in death by his son Joseph Mitchell Pace, his wife of forty-two years, Jeanette Pace, his father Albert Pace, Jr. and his mother Bulah Pace. Others who preceded him in death include two brothers James Lee Pace, Sr., Norman Pace, Sr. and a grandson Rodriquez Dukes.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories two daughters, Gina Pace-Alderson (Ron) and Marcia Pace both of Columbus, OH. Two granddaughters: Shamika Flint and Erica Pace, three grandsons, Christopher (Linda) Pace, Reginald Dukes, Jr., and Mason Moore also of Columbus, OH; eleven great-grand-children and two great-great grandchildren.
Other survivors include his Mother-in-law: Gladys Pace (Columbus, OH); five Sisters: Mattie Gibbs and Hazel Hogg, (Cedartown, GA), Betty Creamer (Rome, GA), Dorothy Welbon, (Chattanooga, TN), and Janice (Dwight) Orr (Columbus, OH); five Brothers: Willie James Pace, Charles (Elmira) Pace, (all of Columbus, OH); Clifford Pace, Sr., David Pace, Sr., and Aaron (Jan) Pace (all of Cedartown, GA), Special Nephew John Gibbs Jr.
Additional survivors include: Sister-in-laws: Tina Pace, Irene Neal, and Mattie Dulaney (all of Cedartown, GA); two Brother-in-laws: John Brown (Tonya) Fayetteville, GA, Nathaniel Brown (Johnny Mae) Cedartown, GA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends mourns his passing.
