Alice Lorain Johnson was born to Allen and Eunice Johnson on February 18, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio. Alice was called home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2017 at the age of 57. Alice was a graduate of Mohawk High School class of 1978. Alice was the 6th child of 10 children and the mother of 2 daughters and 5 sons who will miss her dearly.

Alice had so much to give to so many people that she was known throughout Columbus as a joyful and loving lady.

Alice free-willed spirit carried her through many of life’s woes and struggles because no matter the situation, you could not help but to be lifted up and inspired by her. Alice would make you feel like you are the most important person in the world. Alice was a great caretaker for anyone in need from cleaning homes to home health care. Alice always had a schedule to provide assistance to friends and family, and was never tired.

Alice is known to her siblings and immediate family as “Mike” because being the 5th girl born in a row, her parents didn’t think a boy was in the future.

Alice always had a “Child-like” spirit that showed when she spent time with her children and grandchildren.

The world has lost a true angel here on Earth..

Alice is preceded in death by her parents Allen and Eunice Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, sisters Betty jean and Patricia Lynette Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, nephew Jamie Garrett of Columbus, Ohio.

Alice leaves to cherish her great smile, unique personality , and loving heart, sons Michael Higgins Jr. (Ryan), Carlos Johnson-Higgins, Jack Dinkins IV, Magic Johnson-Higgins, and Dontell Johnson-Higgins, Daughters Dynesha Johnson and Ashley Higgins, brothers William Williamson (Donna), and Allen Johnson Jr., sisters Euretta Newsom (James), Angeline Austin, Gwendolyn Turner (Charles) and Diane Garrett (Jeffery), and Aunt Jacqueline Tidmore, 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Condolence Messages

  1. To the family of Alice, you have my deepest sympathy in your loss. When Lazarus died, Jesus told his disciples that he was going to awaken him (John 11:11). Jesus knew that death is a deep sleep state in which the dead are waiting for the promised resurrection (Acts 24:15). May you have faith in God’s promise that Alice will live again!

  2. To the Johnson family my thoughts and prayers are with you.
