Born January 6, 1930 in Manchester, Georgia. He peacefully entered into her eternal home to be with the lord on Monday August 23, 2016 at midnight.

United States Marine Corp Sergeant Booker dates of services: 2-5-1951 – 12-4-1952 length: 1 year 3 months and 3 days.

Employment years of Loyal Service

1961 Jack Maxton Chevrolet for over 30 years.

1979 Member of St. James Baptist Church

1981 Chairman of the Deacon Beard

He was an active and faithful member where he served in the inspirational gospel choir, male chorus, his spiritual renditions of his favorite songs became his testimony:

“Don’t you know my life is in God’s Hands”

“I can tell the world.. He Brought Joy”

“Everybody ought to praise”

Booker life is being celebrated today as one who loved tge lord, served him faithfully, was of good character, strong faith, loving heart and generosity he showed family, friends and his brothers and sisters in Christ. Booker was the eldest of five children born to the late John and Gushion Love. Booker accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized and united with St. James Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio.

Booker grew into manhood in Columbus, Ohio prior to joining the U.S. Marine Corp.

Booker was united in holy matrimony to the late Helena Love and Remained married until her passing in 2014.

Booker’s favorite pastime was spending quality time with his family,friends, brothers and sisters in Christ.

He was affectionately called “Uncle Booker” T. Love “Book” and Deacon Love.

Booker was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother,uncle, cousin, great- uncle, friend and child of the King.

Booker was also a good friend of the late founder James Baptist Church Rev. Evans Roberts, he helped lay the cornerstone of this church.

Obituary

Booker is preceded in death by his wife Helena Love, parents John and Gushion Love, daughter Bonnie Love- Alexandra.

Left to cherish and celebrate his memories niece Mae Loraine (Keith) McCauley, sons, Frederick Anthony Hardy (Love), Donald Love,  sisters Johnnie M. Hardin, Carrie B. Davis, Mary F. Chaney, Claurice Walker.

 

A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends sincere appreciation to those who lovingly sacrificed provided 24 hours hose care for Booker in his final days to provide comfort, love and atmosphere of spiritual peace specifically niece and nephew. Spiritual family sis. Maggie L. Hamilton, Rev, Sidney S. Hamilton, Bright T. Hamilton, Mary Roberts, Lisa M. Smith, Members of the St. James Baptist Church who were supportive Hospice and the VA Social Worker – Elaine.

 

Visitation 9:00am and Funeral 10:00am Tuesday August 30, 2016 at ST. JAMES BAPTIST CHURCH 1311 E. Hudson St.
