KATES
Carrie Louise Kates, age 66. Surnise August 11, 1948 in Augusta, GA and Sunset November 11, 2014 in Columbus, OH. Carrie was a retired nurse. She was a member of The Asbury United Methodist Church where she ministered in Theatrical Dance, Music, Asbury Childrens Choir and Christian Education. She was preceded in death by her parents Josephine and Louis Lamar, son Donald Eugene Kates and Rosa Lee Gilliam. Left to cherish her memory, husband Michael J. Kates Sr., sons Michael J. Kates Jr., Tracy Allen (Michelle) Kates and Julius J. (Heather) Kates, sisters Margie (Everett) Fields and Bertha Boyce, brothers Louis (Eva) Lamar and Jerry Lamar, 8 grandchildren, special friends Dr. Bernice Smith and Ervin Smith, Myra and Larry Jenkins and Heather Kelley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon Tuesday November 18, 2014 at Asbury United Methodist Church 1586 Clifton Ave. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Kates, Gene and I are so sorry for your loss. There are no words to make you feel better, but our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
