Charles “Doc” Wallace was born on November 15, 1935 and passed into eternity on September 27, 2014. Charles was born in Talladega, AL to the union of Ernest L. Wallace, Sr. and Ruth Christine Wallace. He was their eleventh child. Charles is predeceased by his parents and nine siblings, to include: brothers, Ernest L. Wallace, Jr., Deforest Wallace, Carson Wallace, Horace Wallace, and Willie Wallace. Sisters: Louise Mosley, Martha Davis, Evelyn Wallace, and Carolyn Bowens. Mr. Wallace is survived by his children: Regina G. (David) Patterson, Diane Delaney, and Vincent McClendon. Stepchildren: Linda (Richard) Wright and Cheryl McClendon. Brothers: Robert (Terry) Wallace, Jessie (Valerie) Wallace, and Walter (Jean) Wallace. Sisters: Mary C. Woods of Madison, WI, and Gladys G. Wallace. He is also survived by his longtime companion and caregiver, Deborah Denise Cradle. He is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many, many nieces, nephews, and great and great great nieces and nephews. Charles graduated from East High School, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force, he attended Navigator School. Upon returning to civilian life, he worked as a postal worker for many years. He was an avid bowler and loved the game of baseball.
