Cynthia Thomas

Thomas Cynthia

Cynthia Delores Thomas born on October 4, 1939 and passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Monday, July 3, 2017 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Cynthia was born in Richmond, Virginia. She was one of three children born to Douglas Todd and Elizabeth Jolly. Cynthia will forever be remembered by her brother and sister, Rev. Glenn McBride and Veronica McBride. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kevin Thomas, Keith Thomas and Calvin Thomas, Sr.; special cousins, Deborah Dunbar, Shirley Starkey and their children; nephew, Tyrone Thomas; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild followed by a host of other relatives, close friends and companions.

Cynthia Thomas or “Kitty, Nana, Sister, Auntie” loved her family very much. She looked after each of us, provided for all of us and gave us a chance to face the world with a clean spirit. Cynthia loved to travel, spend time with her friends and family, endorse family reunions, listen to and dance to music, had an amazing singing voice and marched to the beat of her own drum. She was very generous and would give her last dime to support someone in need. Cynthia was an amazing cook!

Cynthia worked as nurse’s aid for several facilities in Columbus, Ohio namely, The Ohio State University Hospital and Westminster Thurber Retirement Community. After retirement, Cynthia served as a founding member of the Mount Vernon Plaza Tenants Association for over 20 years. During her time with the Tenants Association, Cynthia worked for neighboring businesses to provide holiday meals and gifts for needy families. She felt that every child should have a warm meal and a gift for Christmas. She always believed in putting a smile on a person’s face and that will be missed most of all.

  3. I’m definitely gonna miss you Cuzzin Kitty!! The convos we would have about my kids & life always gave me an extra boos of strength leaving your house. Times where I would tell you soooo much and you would look at me, waive them hands and say “girl please” Lmbo! Or when I would braid your hair and soon as I thought I was walking fast out the door you would say “you know I need you to play my numbers right” Lmbo! Cuzzin Kitty you ain’t take no stuff from NOBODY.. BUT had a heart of gold & a smile that was so pretty and strong! I cried when I got the news of your passing. Literally I seen you on Sunday & Monday you went to heaven!! Although I will miss you God had greater plans for you. Rest peacefully My Queen and watch over Me & The Kids!! Until we meet again I Love You.

My only consolation is that your with the Heavenly Father just basking in his presence. The Lord Jesus just loving on you. Love you My Sister. My the peace of the Lord be with the Thomas Family

    To the Family,

I always called her “Aunt Kitty” and anytime I was around her at family functions, social events I always had a good time with her. Aunt Kitty with such a beautiful smile and a magnificent flair for fashion will truly be missed by all those lives that she touched. She is no longer in pain, singing with angels, and will watch over all of you. Keep all your memories close to your heart, and let God guide you through the difficult days and nights. Fly HIGH Aunt Kitty!! Love and miss you.

The loss of a loved one can be one of the most painful parts of life. Grief and mourning come in many different stages and it is easy to let emotion consume you during these difficult times. However, it is important to keep God close to your heart instead of pushing Him away. Remember that you need God now more than ever and He wants you to be happy again despite the loss and heartbreak you may feel.
My prayers to you and your family Calvin!!
