Dustin K. Smith was born in Columbus, Ohio to Jerome Sr. and Mildred Smith on December 27, 1968. Dustin departed this life on December 31, 2013 at Mt Carmel West Hospital. Dustin was best known to his family and friends as Freeze.

As a child Dustin showed his artistic abilities in drawing, writing and arranging music. He worked in his father’s business showing again how skilled he was with painting and designing. Later he took on the name Freeze in the entertainment world and was often asked to DJ at events and special occasions around Columbus.
