Eleanor Louise Green went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Grant Hospital. She suffered many medical issues over the years but fought a valiant fight until the Lord called her home. She was born on July 1, 1951 to Eddie Joe and Evelyn Juanita Green in Tuscaloosa, AL. She graduated from Delaware Hayes High School. She was a member of the New Horizons Christian Fellowship where she helped facilitate the yearly Worship in the Park. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and extended family. Eleanor had an exceptional love of cooking and especially enjoyed cooking for others. She had many children of her heart from various neighborhoods and the schools her children attended. She was a mentor and inspiration to her siblings and those that knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Evelyn J. Green; her loving children, Gregory Lee Green and Denise L. Pace; grandchildren Gregory Pace, Brian Triplett, Gregory Palmer, Cyann Pace, Braylon Green; great-grandson, Jamal Pace; sister, Ethelyn Green; brothers, Edward (Valletta); Elrich “Pete” (Barbara); Phillip (Robin); and Kenneth (Frances). She also had a host of nieces, nephews, extensive family and many special friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by her daughter, Kirsten Elise; brother, Errol J. Green; father, Eddie J. Green; maternal grandmother, Bettie Roberts; and paternal grandmother, Erma Howard.

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Eleanor. We had not seen her for a long time but had never forgotten her smiling face and beautiful personality. Our condolences to family.
I was really saddened to hear of Eleanor's passing. We attented school together and were good friends until life seperated us. I never forgot her as I know she never forgot me.She was a lovely person and she will be truly missed not only by her family but by everone she met and befriended. Rest in peace Eleanor.
