Essie was one of the first people to greet my mom at the nursing home. She later became her suite mate. She mothered many of the residence & visitors, including me – such as worrying about my driving home in bad weather. Mom really appreciated her genuine friendship & compassion. I usually greeted her with a big ole hug & said good night as I left. She is already missed.

The HPPA law protects medical patient privacy. So in a nursing home, that means the staff aren’t allowed to tell residents when they are in a hospital or even when they are deceased! It’s like being in a litter of puppies. You wake up one day & a litter mate is gone with no explanation. Mom & I worried every time Essie “disappeared.” We were always happy when she returned.

We want to thank her son for caring enough to let her resident friends know that Essie has gone Home. She was truly loved here.

We extent our deepest sympathy to her wonderful family while we rejoice for Essie who has left her imperfect body & our imperfect world for a Perfect Place, with a perfect body.

    To my dearest Aunt:

You will be missed beyond measure. You were the Mother that I desired. You have always valued me as though I were your own. I Love you Eternally and will meditate on the wisdom that you afforded me. Rest in Peace…for Always and Forever.

    Your Loving Nephew,

    Renard

  3. To the Woodard family, you have my condolences in your loss. God promises at Revelation 21:4, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” May you find comfort in God’s promises during this difficult time.
