John Henry Sims Sr., 77, Sunrise June 30, 1931 – Sunset November 19, 2008 at OSU Medical Center. Veteran of U.S. Army during Korean War. Supporter of Trinity Baptist Church and retired from Columbus & Southern Electric Co. (AEP) as a Journeyman Mechanic. Preceded in death by parents James and Rosa Sims and siblings Raymond Sims, Iola Sims Cunningham, Mildred Sims Lucas, and Cora Sims Williams and Leona Sims Wheatley. John is survived by wife Dora Sims; daughter Linda Sims; sons John H. (Melissa) Sims II and Robert L. Sims; brothers James Sims and Herbert (Phyllis) Sims; grandchildren John H. Sims III and Brandi Sheree Sims and a host of other family and friends.

Hi Dora and Linda, I was so sorry to see in the paper that John had passed away. He was such a nice guy. We sure had some good laughs when you all were coming into the clinic. I miss those days. Just wanted to you know I'm thinking about you. Just remember- when someone we love becomes a memory those memories become treasures. I hope those treasures will help you get through this difficult time. Carol
