John Samuel Slaughter, 81. Sunrise July 8, 1929 – Sunset February 14, 2011.

John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and formerly employed at The OSU Medical Center.

He was a member of Faith Ministries Church and Air Force Sergeants Assoc.

John was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Slaughter, brothers Edward, Garfield and Clifford Slaughter, and sisters Bertha Tucker, Maggie Jamison, Stella Evans and Flora Bald.

Left to cherish his memory, wife of 53 years Katherine Slaughter, son Stephen M. Slaughter, grandson Quinten Miles Slaughter and his mother, Dr. Margaret H. Schenck, all of Venice, CA, special friend Sherdina Owsley, sisters in law Cornelia (Ralph) Grider and Johnetta Owsley, brothers in law Robert (Christine) Owsley and Jerry Owsley, special nieces Carolyn (Edward) Walters and Barbara Tucker and a host of other nieces, nephew, cousins, friends and colleagues.
