Marcia E. Ballentine

Marcia Ballentine

Marcia Elaine Ballentine was born on November 2, 1950 in Columbus Ohio. She was the middle child of three children born to John Benton and Helen Calloway Brooks. On March 19, 2014 God called her home. Marcia was a graduate of South High School. In 1967, she was joined in holy matrimony to her former husband Charles Steven Ballentine. To this union was born their pride and joy Lisa Marie. For 28 years, she worked as a manager in International Customer Service at Borden Incorporated. Up until her untimely death, she was employed in International Customer Support at Smiths-Medical North America. As a child, she was raised in the Pentecostal House of Prayer of All Nations founded by her grandfather James Gilford Calloway and later became a member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, Incorporated. Marcia loved to travel and frequently accompanied her family on cruise vacations throughout the Caribbean and the Americas. She was known for her infectious laughter, quick wit, and ever-present smile. She was a joyful kind-hearted woman who cared about everyone and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister Brenda Brooks. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter Lisa (Robert) Price of Lexington, Kentucky; sister Tanya Goolsby; aunt Rozilia Vaughn; uncles Steven, Phillip and Mark Calloway; nieces Rhonda Johnson and Toska Brooks; nephews Derek and Terrence Brooks, Kevin and Brian Ballentine, and a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and treasured friends.

Condolence Messages

  1. I had the pleasure to work with Marcia for many years at Smiths Medical. She was always kind and helpful to her many friends here. Her passing was such a sad surprise. I wanted to say how much I always appreciated her kind words to me…she was so encouraging with my new diet and made an effort to let me know it was working. That always made me feel great! She will be missed. May she find peace with the Lord.

  2. Rahlene Elder

Words seem so inadequate to express my sympathy and sorrow for your loss. May God give you strength to pass through this valley until you can look back on the memories that give you joy. I miss her deeply.
