Michael Jerome Woodard, 53, of Columbus, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at The Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born March 28, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio, to Jimmy L. Woodard and Catherine Woodard. He is survived by his ex-wife Vivian Meeks (married September 28, 1979).
Michael leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Jimmy Woodard; his mother, Catherine Woodard; four sisters: Linda Woodard, Beverly Devereaux, Cathy Emerson and Cynthia Woodard; an honorary sister and brother: Jacob and Gladys Hines; three sons: Jeremiah Jerome, Sr. (Charmayne), Michael Jay, Sr. (Tiyona), and James Anthony; twelve grandchildren: Jeremyah Venezia Michelle, Jerrica Jenean, Jercita Lynn, Jermiah Jerome, Jr., Jermayne Jay, Janyah My’Shell, Japreah My’Joy, Nathaniel, Michael Jay, Jr., Jernajsah Valnae, Jaleah Ariona, and Hussan Omar; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Michael was a long time resident of Columbus, where he was born and raised. He graduated from East High School in 1978 and had been an employee at Superior Die and Tool, Columbus, Ohio, for sixteen plus years.
He loved to collect model cars, filling a complete bedroom of various models and sizes. He enjoyed playing the lead and bass guitars. Michael attended Shady Grove Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age. He enjoyed playing the lead and bass guitars for church services.
