Patsy Ann Thomas was born on May 8, 1949 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the parentage of Nelson and Anna Bell (Jackson Thomas. She was the third oldest of a loving family of 10 children. She departed this life peacefully at her residence on June 15, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio at age 68. She was a proud and devoted mother to her son Scotty Thomas and will be be blessed by her partner Benny Broadsdale.

She was a retired employee of the Ohio State University Hospital, where she received many high awards honoring her outstanding work. After her retirement, she continued to be a compassionate and faithful caregiver, who many had to depend on for quality care. She was truly loved by all that knew her for her tireless energy to help others in need without ever seeking any glory for herself. She also enjoyed actively working to preserve and present African art, history and culture throughout the Columbus Community for many years.

She was raised and baptized in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of Columbus Ohio where she attended for many years. She was a true gift from God as a mother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, friend, worker, and neighbor, and leaves behind a tremendous void in the family that adored her always warm and friendly spirit.

Patsy is pre-deceased by her beloved parents, Nelson and Anna Bell Thomas; sisters, Kaven Thomas and Brenda Lipsey; brother, Terry Thomas.

She is survived by son, Scotty Thomas; sisters, Priscilla Shelby and Louise (Thomas) Solomon; brothers Reginald Thomas, Jerry Thomas, Joseph Thomas and Beecher Thomas as well a a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 12:30pm and Funeral Service 1:30pm Friday, June 23, 2017 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn north on Lonsdale Rd.).

Interment at Evergreen/Eastlawn Cemetery.
