Roland J. Thornton Jr., age 79. Sunrise May 3, 1935 in Harris City, GA and Sunset July 11, 2014 in Columbus, OH. Roland worked over 22 years at Milo Grogan Recreation Center until retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents Roland Thornton Sr. and Alberta Brewster, brother Elijah Buddy Brewster, and children Roland Thornton III, Sandra Robinson, Leonard Parham and James Parham. Left to cherish his memory, wife of 61 years, Lugena Thornton, son Roger Thornton, daughters Roberta (Charlie) Johnson, Christel (Rev. Essic) Jones, Barbara Thornton, and Theresa James, brother Abraham Thornton, 27 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 12 great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
