Vivian Josette Thompson, age 67, sunrise October 13, 1949 and sunset March 30, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by her family. Vivian was a graduate of East High School and The Ohio State University. She retired from the State of Ohio where she worked for 20 years. She was a lifetime member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church where she sang with the Treble Cleff and Celestial Choirs.

Vivian didn’t meet a stranger; she was very outgoing and always bragged about her daughters and grandsons to anyone who would listen.  She was very proud of her daughters and their achievements that made them the strong young women they are today. Vivian was committed to her family as daughter, mother, grandmother and aunt. In her later years she devoted most of her time to care for parents. Vivian was selfless and opened her home to family and friends whenever needed. In her spare time she loved to travel, knit, complete word searches and watch black and white movies.

Vivian was preceded in death by her mother, Pomie Hubert Young and sister, Sheila Dillard.

Left to cherish her memory, father, Joseph Young; daughters, Kelli Johnson, Shelli Johnson and Angela Stewart; grandchildren, Fred Williams, III, Cory Stewart, Adam Stewart and Noah Stewart; special niece Kyra (Tim) Wright, great nephew Emmanuel Wright; brother in law Clarence Dillard; special cousin Kathy Ellis and special sister in spirit, Jewell Smith and a host of other family and friends.
