William Austin was born on January 27, 1927 to Fred and Ada Austin in Riner, Virginia. He went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ada Austin, brother George Austin, sisters Janie Hayden and Louvenia Stewart of Columbus, sister-in law Ella Mae Austin of Riner, VA, son Cedrick Moss and stepson Michael Morgan.

He enlisted in the United States Army and actively served from December 1953 to November 1955. During that time he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Ribbon. He was honorably discharged at the rank of PFC (T). He was retired from Capitol Mfg. after 30 years of service.

William leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Patricia Austin; loving daughters Sonya (Gregory) Hardiman, Tashell Austin; son, Keenan Austin; grandchildren, Brandon Hardiman, Gregory Hardiman II, D’eja Hardiman, Aubrey Barney, Michael Cumberland, Matt Throm; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and close friends.
