William Berkley (Bill) Drew, age 86, departed this life on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. He was born January 24, 1930, in Huddleston, VA. He lived in Roanoke, VA, Detroit, MI., Los Angeles, CA. and finally made his home in Columbus, OH. He was a member of The New Generation Church where he served as the custodian for several years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alonza and Lalar Drew, son, Ronald Drew, three brothers; Matthew, Clarence, Odell, and three sisters; Ruby, Viola and Hazel, He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Mahallia, daughters: Lalar Marionette (Dennis) Murphy, Sonji Etta (Michael) Slade, Shalonda Makeia (Lenell) Nutt and Cheryl (William) Johnson, adopted daughters, Susan Bass, Deborah and Latoya Snead, two sons: Ricky Louis (Sabine) Veasey, and Willie “Brook” Veasey, brothers: Albert (Josephine) Drew, Curtis (Carolyn) Drew and Thomas (Jene) Drew, sister Vernice Penn, brother, Louis Drew, In-laws: Wallace E. (Mattie) Veasey, Ronald L. (Dorothy) Jacobs, Vivian Drew and Thelia Drew, special cousin, Warrick (Pongee) Drew and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Saturday February 13, 2016 at Christ Cathedral Church 3360 Allegheny Ave.
