Troy DeAndre Spann departed this life on August 14, 2020 at the age of 54 years old. He was born on June 4, 1966 to Jenny Lee Brown and Thomas Spann in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Franklin Middle School and was an athlete and graduate of Northland High School. Over the years he was employed by Bob Evans, Chase and Express.

Affectionally known as “Troy Baby”, he was the epitome of “cool, calm and collected”. His bright smile could light up a room and he always brought a sense of humor that everyone grew to love. He was an avid creative, lover of music and passionate sports fan. Troy’s parents were both gospel singers and he grew up in church where played the guitar, bass and keyboard. He was also a great singer and was a member of an R&B Group called “The Game”. He had a great ear for music and at one point even produced and was featured on his own album. His all-time favorite musical artist was Prince; he was always inspired by his musical genius and diligently studied his craft. Troy also loved his Dallas Cowboys, Ohio State Buckeyes and Chicago Bulls! If either of these teams were playing, rest assured, Troy was there to root them on, talk smack and give you solid statistics on why his team was the best.

Troy will be sorely missed by all who loved him. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Jenny Lee Brown, Aunt Anna Perry and Uncle Wendell Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory Father, Thomas Spann, Daughters Traiana Monet and Taja Monet, Brother Dalyn L. Brown, loving companion Angela Harris, special niece Jalyn Parks and Sisters Chrysanthius Spann-Williams, Denise Spann- Morgan, Stephanie Spann-Campbell (all of Brooklyn, New York), Mel’Vina Spann of Pennsylvania and Shelia Spann-Chang of Virginia. He also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memory and miss his bright smile, cool demeanor and outgoing personality. We love you Troy Baby- FOREVER!
