Steven Jermaine Johnston, age 38. Sunrise August 6, 1979 Sunset August 29, 2017.

He attended the MRDD program where he earned his diploma.

Steven had a special love for straws. He loved all of his sisters but had a special love and relationship for Marcia. He will be remembered for his big handsome smile. He enjoyed being loved on by his family but just like his father, you could kiss him on the cheek but not the lips.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Benson; grandmothers, Elizabeth Benson and Memie Ellis.

Left to cherish his memory, mother, Pamela Foster; sisters, India Johnston, Latasha Johnston, Marcia (Brian) Harris, Sherry Woods, and Donetta Johnston; nieces, Daneisha Stafford, Patience Wilder, and Mikayla Bordley; nephews, Brian Harris Jr. and Jo-Jo; special friends, Louis Stafford, Michael Neil, and Jamey Wade, and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation 12 noon, Funeral 1 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.

    To all my lil Cousins. I’m so sorry for the loss of lil Steve. I’m so proud of all you sisters who stuck together and took good care of him…GREAT JOB. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there with you, but you were on my mind and in my heart. You can be sure of one thing, when he got his wings – he flew straight to Aunt Mamie. Bless you all and I love you all.
