Desmond Gary Fitzhugh, age 31. Sunrise January 18, 1985 and Sunset March 8, 2016. Desmond is predeceased by his father, Gary Gilbert; grandfather, Charlie Fitzhugh, Jr.; and uncle, Charles Bernard Fitzhugh. Left to cherish his memory, mother, Cherry Fitzhugh; grandmother, Bernice Fitzhugh; brothers, Devin G. Fitzhugh and Dominick G. Fitzhugh; cousins, Charlene, Shannon, and Charles Fitzhugh; special aunt, Charlotte McCurdy; and a host of relatives and close friends. I’m going to miss you my brother my friend I’m going to miss our conversations we used to have I’m going to miss seeing you around Columbus I just can’t believe that your gone but I know you’re in a Better place baby until we meet again I will always love you Fly high my angel.
I first met Desmond on a Sunday at Heartland taking our Lab/Retriever-mix dog to visit residents. He liked her and Maggie liked him, licking his hand. She also licked his hand 2 days before he passed. It has been an honor to serve Desmond as a Hospice Volunteer. We had some good conversations and laughs together, discussing food and décor, the articles in various magazines and how to get his coffee just right (hazelnut flavoring, 3 sugars from the yellow packets only). I will miss him and send my sympathy to the family. Nancy

I am sincerely sorry for your loss. I did not know Mr. Fitzhugh personally but in just reading the thoughts of condolences it is obvious that he touched the lives of many. I merely want to share thoughts of encouragement from God’s Holy Bible. Revelation 21:3,4 speaks of a time when pain, suffering, tears of sorrow and even death will cease to affect the human family! Can you imagine that? John 5:28,29 promises us that our dear loved ones who are asleep in death will be resurrected. So as your memories of Mr. Fitzhugh fill your minds and hearts may the GOD of all comfort embrace you all.
