Albert Patterson was born in Rocky Mountain Virginia to the union of James E. Patterson and Thelma Marie McGee on August 19, 1945. As a civilian before Vietnam War he was a factory and steel mill worker for 4 years. He joined the service and did his tour in Vietnam as a gunner (sharp shooter) and he was honorably discharged.

After Albert’s time in the military he became a father and when his children became adults he then became a loving Grandfather to 5 Grandchildren and Great-grandfather of 3. His life was filled with love, laughter, family and fun. Nothing could or would take that bright smile off of his face.

Albert is survived in life by his wife, Marcella Wilson Patterson; daughter, Rebecca Baker; sister, Chrissie Wilson; grandsons, Kevin Baker (Kalea Blair) and Devon Baker (Sidney Eldridge); granddaughters, DaLeah Wilson (Lee Mapp), Keswanna Carpenter, and Shyanne Baker (Ricky Phillips); 3 great-grandchildren, Skaianna Burge, Kaliyah Smith, and KA’Lil Baker; special friends, Joyce Jones and Nancy Carruthers as well as many other friends, family and loved ones.

Albert was preceded in death by his mother, father, and son, Albert Patterson Jr; brother-in-law and love, Albert Wilson Sr; and niece, Renai Payne.

Visitation 11:00am  and Funeral 12:00 pm Wednesday February 28, 2018 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, The Chapel of Peace East.

Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.

To the family I want to express my deepest sympathy in the loss of my cousin I will always remember him for being kind and gentle I will always remember him for the special greeting we had and that was which one of us saw each other first our greeting would be”hey ugly” then we would crack up laughing” To the family I pray for comfort .
