Alexander Williams Jr. was born May 6, 1949 in West Virginia to Alexander and Elizabeth Williams. He was taken into God’s care Friday, January 10, 2020 at the age of 70 in Columbus, Ohio at Darby Glenn Nursing Rehabilitation Center.

Alexander Williams Jr. Aka “Big Al” graduated from the university high school in 1969 in West Virginia. Upon graduation he was enlisted in the United States Army to fight in the Vietnam War. He served from 1969-1971.

Big Al created a new life in Columbus, Ohio with Etta Yvonne Blue. They got married in 1977 and remained married for 43 years, from that union came three children and three grandchildren. Big Al started a career at defense construction supply center and was there for 21 years. He loved to cook with a passion. His favorite food was fish.

He is preceded in death by loving parents Alexander and Elizabeth Williams, and sister Carol Turner.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories; loving wife of 43 years Etta Williams, children Terrace Y. Williams, Dione Elizabeth Williams, and Alexander Williams III, grandchildren Steven Galloway, Aja Hicks, and Chyna Hicks, nieces Monica and Erica Turner, and Lee Williams, great nieces and nephews Jazmin Turner, Elijah Sullivan, Devin Williams, David Williams, Marcus Williams, and Mischa Williams, also a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 4:00 PM and Funeral Service 5:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2020 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.

  8. With sincere sympathy and prayers to the family. I worked with Al (Bunky) over 45 years ago at my first job at KFC. He was a wonderful friend and will truly be missed. I am sorry I am just now seeing this. My prayers to Etta and all of his family. May God continue to wrap his arms around and comfort the family. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
