Alice Faye was born on September 6, 1942 in Taplin, West Virginia to the late William H. and Ella Mae Cook. In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her son, Lawrence James Bryant, Jr., and siblings Betty J. Cook, Gracie A. Cook, Virginia Fuqua, James Cook, Clarence Cook, and Roland Cook.

God called Alice home on October 26, 2019 in Raleigh, North Carolina and as she transitioned, she was surrounded by all of her surviving children. Alice loved family gatherings, good food, bingo, arts and crafts and she loved the Lord. Alice accepted God as her Christ and Savior at an early age and she held steadfast to her faith and during difficult and uncertain times, Alice said “you don’t know the God I serve, He is able…” One of her favorite songs was Goin’ up Yonder.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Sandra Cook, Kenny (Linda) Cook, Curtis (Kemily) Cook, Michelle McCoy, grandchildren LaToya, Curtis, Jr, Rondell, Kanisha, Amber, Robyn, Antwan, Latia, Kealin, Tika, and a host of great-grandchildren. She also leaves her aunt Hallie Rutherford of Cincinnati, Ohio, siblings, Dale Woods, Charles (Essie) Cook, Linda “LuLu” Hemphill, Robert “Bobby” Cook, Patricia “Peggy” Williamson, Vicky Edwards, and Ivy Wesley (Torsia) Cook, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
