Alice Marie Jones, 71; departed this life and transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior on August 11, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Known as Ms. Alice, Mother Alice, Alice Marie, “Pooh”, or auntie was born July 17, 1947 in Maysville, Kentucky to Alvin H. Jones and Mary France Rice, both deceased.

Alice was a graduate of Mason County High School. Alice moved to Columbus, Ohio at an early age. Alice was employed over the years with U.S. Postal Service, Dr. Luther Ike; Xenon Industries, Columbus Public Schools (Bus driver and warehouse.) After a while of hardships in her life, personal and professional, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio for a fresh start. She was employed by MV Transportation as a bus driver and then promoted to safety trainer. After an accident and illness, Alice moved to Circleville, Ohio to be near her children. Alice gained employment with the Pickaway County Coalition Agency where she assisted in the Tax Preparation Office. Alice was received in membership at Second Baptist Church when she transferred from Cincinnati, in 2011 from St. John AME Church.

Alice is preceded in death by both her parents, son Alan Chandler Jones, nephew Andre Jones, and great nephew James Stephens.

She leaves to cherish her memory with daughter Evangelist Vanessa Jones of Circleville; son Lyndon McDade (Deborah) of Columbus; sister Patricia Jones-Carson of Cincinnati, niece Alycia Jones (David Harris), and great niece Kayla Jones.

Alice was the signet mother to her sons Jack Woodson, Jay Woodson, and Douglas Hill. A host of other very special people in her life, Lena Martin, Audrey, Sheila Roland, and James Chaney, also a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Saturday August 18, 2018 at Second Baptist Church 130 W. Mill St. , Circleville, OH.
