calloway

Amber Renee Calloway, age 28 was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 18, 1992 to Nina Calloway and Larry Gooden.  Amber unexpectedly received her wings on July 27, 2021.

She was a fun-loving, free-spirited, and headstrong young lady who wanted to live life on her own terms.  She enjoyed family gatherings, hanging out with friends, or just relaxing at home watching movies and listening to music.  Amber loved to laugh and make others laugh and you always knew when she was around.  Despite the many challenges she faced in her lifetime, she tried to make the most of the time she was here.

She graduated from Hamilton Township High School in 2011 and received job training and worked for the Reeb Center.  She babysat often for family members and friends.  She also worked for Donato’s and Sav-A-Lot.  She adored all things purple and anything with some bling which was befitting since Amber means “Jewel”. Amber was blessed to have two mothers Nina Calloway and Brenda King.

Amber was preceded in death by her father Larry Gooden, grandmother Roberta Calloway, and uncles Kevin and Calvin McCarroll.

She is survived by her mother Nina Calloway, mother Brenda  (Abraham) King, sister Loreal , Melissa, Shaunda (Eric) Smith Anita King. Brothers: Robert (Jazzmin) Chris, Curtis, Chris King, Abraham Jr. Clifford, A very special Aunt Linda (Prakash) Thumboli as well as a host of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Praying for the family.

Lord, hear our cries and our broken hearts. Losing a loved one is never easy, it feels as though we have lost something irreplaceable. However, we find comfort in knowing that the last enemy to be destroyed is death! Death cannot defeat us, for we are made alive again in You. Lord we rejoice knowing that we will be reunited with our loved one again, we also give You praise for allowing them to find rest in You, Amen.
