Amelia Beatrice Prillerman, age 89. Sunrise August 22, 1926 in Institute, WV and Sunset June 6, 2016 in Columbus, OH. Amelia served with the Cadet Nurses Corp and was a Registered Nurse earning her BSN at Ohio University. She was a longstanding Presbyterian, serving at Bethany Presbyterian, and First Presbyterian Chillicothe where she served as a Deacon and sang in the Choir and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was a member of NAACP, Black Presbyterian Caucus, Top Ladies of Distinction and other organizations. Amelia sang with Paul Lawrence Dunbar Choir and Gospel Meets Symphony. She volunteered as a usher at The Ohio, Palace and Southern Theaters. She also served on PIC, Children’s Services Chillicothe and Good Samaritan Food Bank Network Chillicothe Boards. Amelia was preceded in death by her parents Delbert McCullough Prillerman, and Amelia Beatrice (Cook) Prillerman, siblings Delbert McCullough Jr., Byrd Allen, Franklin Devon, Lawrence Lemoyne, and William Randolph, grandson Garrett Burton, and former spouses William A. Mayson and George U. Burton Sr. Left to cherish her memory, daughters Patricia Burton-Marsh, and Ruth E. (Pastor Michael) Wilson; sons William A. (Lin) Mayson Jr. and George U. (Faynel) Burton Jr.; former spouse Roland L. Phillips; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family will receive friends at 3pm and Memorial Service at 4pm Saturday July 2, 2016 at Bethany Presbyterian Church 206 N. Garfield Ave. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE 2500 Cleveland Ave. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to African American Cancer Support Group and The Humane Society.
