Annette Weatherspoon

weatherspoon 2

Annette Weatherspoon was born on April 28th, 1963 in Columbus, Ohio to the parents of Althe Short and Jimmy Tucker. She was the youngest of four siblings. She attended Brookhaven High School. She met Earnest Parks and together they birthed Parish Weatherspoon. Annette was a nursing aide and a house keeper for several years and retired from Heartland of Westerville. Annette loved family gatherings, hosting others and inviting those from her local neighborhood into her home with her love of cooking great family meals. Due to her nurturing nature, she was given the following nicknames: Momma Goonie, Nettie Girl, and Little Bit. She also enjoyed old school rhythm and blues music and dancing with family and friends. She was also known by Nette the Threat because she gave everyone the raw truth and refused to hold anything back if she felt it needed to be heard.

Annette was a loving Grandma to her seven Grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She spoiled them, loved spending quality time with them, and according to their parents “bought them everything.” Ms. Annette was known to be a powerhouse even with her small frame; she was the example of the saying “great things come in small packages.” Her son Parish remembers his mother as a no-nonsense disciplinarian that made sure she instilled the right morals and values to Parish as well as his close friends whom he calls brothers. He remembers her discipline as a costly one that required him and his friends to “pay up” when they made a huge mistake, demanding $5-10 per child whether it was hers or not! She was also known to be a loyal friend to Donna Hancock, Val Brown, and Debbie Welch. She is survived in death by: Son, Parish (Terra) Weatherspoon, Granchildren: Timothy Wells, Tierra Wells, Taylor Wells, Parish Weatherspoon Jr., Samya Weatherspoon, Shamar Weatherspoon, and Saniyah Weatherspoon. Great Granchildren: Milani Sanders, and Melanie Sanders. Siblings: Yolanda Miller, Charles(Loretta) Weatherspoon, Veronica Weatherspoon, and Tracy Weatherspoon. Nephews: Damien (Hope) Weatherspoon, Eddie (Kelia) Miller, Andrew Weatherspoon, and Deon-Andre Moore. Nieces: Lisa Short, Ashley Weatherspoon, Cierra (Terry) Jackson, Cheyenne Jenkins, and Brooklyn Falls and a host of other family and friends.
