Anthony Quan Merchant Sr. “Merch”, age 59 was born December 11, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio to James and Joyce Taylor. He received his invitation to Heaven December 19, 2021.

Anthony accepted Christ at Bibleway Church of our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 13. He always remembered the word of God and loved to sing. His favorite song being “Silver and Gold”. He believed in the Power of Prayer and wasn’t afraid to use it.

Anthony was multi-talented and multi-faceted. His talents being in the arts and singing. He was very personable and outgoing. He loved and cared very deeply for his family. He never met a stranger. Anthony worked construction, and also worked at Goodwill as a forklift driver before becoming disabled.

Anthony is preceded in death by his father, James Taylor; grandparents; Eugene and Ossaleen Curry, aunt Cheryl Curry who greeted at heaven gates, she was always there to help at anytime he needed her, she understood him with unconditional love neither can be replaced on earth now their together lighting the sky in heaven.

He leaves to cherish his memory, mother, Joyce Taylor; sister, Patrice Merchant; daughters, Candise (Merchant) Kendricks, Shaunikqua Merchant, Chassity Merchant, Quantre’ Merchant; sons, Anthony Merchant, Jr., and Antonio Merchant-Truwolf; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, Tyrone Taylor and Joey King; fiancé, Ava Dawkins; aunts,  Aunt Mischa who was enduring and loved him, Aunt Patty, Aunt Mary Lou and Aunt Gail who held a very special relationship with her nephew. They had a bond, she always had his back. Uncle;  Uncle Bobby who loved his nephew had real talks and shared words of positive wisdom about life with him, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Philadelphia Deliverance Church of Christ, 250 S. Napoleon Ave. Mask and Social Distancing are required. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
