Ashonta Renee Bell

bell

Ashonta Renee Bell was born October 1, 1978 to Ellow and Willogean Bell in Columbus, Ohio. She suddenly departed this life on April 13, 2021.

Ashonta was a fun and outgoing person. She leaves behind two loving daughters, Chamar and Peja. Known by her nickname Shonna, she loved being surrounded by family. She made sure it was never a dull moment by always hosting cookouts and family gatherings at her house. There was always a new recipe or restaurant she wanted to try. She loved spontaneous road trips and vacations. You could always count on her to have the sweetest smelling perfume.

There was nothing in life she loved more than her granddaughter Cailyn. She spent most of her free time video chatting her and shoe shopping with her. When she was at home, she loved cuddling with her dogs. She was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan, and always watched the games.

Shonna worked in the healthcare field as a Home Health Aide which she loved dearly.

Shonna was sure to keep a smile on everyone’s face. To know her was to truly love her. She will be dearly missed.

Ashonta was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, 2 aunts and 2 uncles: among other family members.

Ashonta leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Chamar Brown and Peja Bell; mother Willogean (Theodore) Williams; father, Ellow (Pamela) Bell; godmother, Jackie Gardner; brothers, William Bell and Hose Bell; sister, Yvette Gardner; special nephews, Kadeem Smith and Kyree Bell; special niece, Kachay Bell; fiancé, Hank Mason; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Her greatest joy was her only granddaughter, Cailyn Mercy Allen.

“Weeping may endures for one night. But joy comes in the morning light.”

To the family: Shona and I became friends through a family member. Mrs. Bell, I wanted to be there, but, chose to remember her in my way. Praying for the family.
