Barbara “Bobbie” Lillian Saunders or “first lady” as some of her grandchildren called her, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 20, 2010 at OSU EAST Hospital with her family by her side. She was one of three children born to Thomas and Florence Kearns on April 22, 1924, in Delbarton, West Virginia.

Barbara would later marry Alfonso Saunders, and they would have three children. Bobbie worked at Heartland Thurber Village for 25 years where she later retired. “Bobbie” as many would affectionately called her, loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles and her lottery numbers.

Preceded her in death was: devoted husband Alfonso Saunders; daughter Linda Saunders; brother Roberts Kearns; and sister Minnie Kearns.

Those left to cherish her memories are: son Robert “Jackie” (Diane) Moore; daughter Alesia (Michael) Crowder; grandchildren: Deirdre (Bobby) Armbrester, Alphonzo (Kamilah) Saunders, Alonzo (Danyel) Saunders, Ta-Leia (Jason) Moore, Terri Moore, Vincent Moore, Eric Moore, Marchael Crowder, Brandon Crowder, Terrel Crowder and Lisa Dickerson; great grandchildren Glenn Jr., India, Kwan, Darius, Dominique, Dante, DeVante, LaStacia, JaVon, Shana, Shawnta, Shurlonda, Cameron, Trevon, Angel, Symone, Jordan, Joshua, Ashley, Erica, Anthony, DaShawna, Tomencia, Marshawn and Jani; great great grandchildren Arieon, Arieyonna, Diamond, Yasmen, Torod, Jayshawn, Elizabeth, Monte and one blessing on the way MarKwan. Best friends Sarah Taylor and Nancy Kasey. God children Beulah and Alesia Robinson.

Well "es;shorty"es;…. smiling… I will miss coming to see you and pick with you about being short. But thank you for embracing me and mommy just like one of your own..You may be gone from the body but I know you are still here in spirit..
