Barbara D. Petty, also known as “Babby” was born on July 3, 1959 in Winston Salem, North Carolina and passed away on October 8, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio.

Barbara has eleven grandchildren. She was a loving and caring person. She loved to crack jokes. She loved listening to music. She was a bartender at Tins Bar. Her favorite hangout spot is FNH Bar where she loved to gamble and play dice to take everyone’s money. Barbara could be mean at times. Her favorite word was “Bitch” and “MF” but, she would help anyone out. IF you called, she would have answered. She loved the kids.

Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Rachel Williams; father, Carl Porter; sister, Debra Petty; brothers, Dewayne and Jerry Petty; son, Alfred Sow Jr; aunt, Willie Mae Eldridge; niece Tracy White; and nephews Titus White and Deonte Yepes.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her children; Charlene Petty, Davonna Anderson, Samuel(Keiwaunna) Petty, and Brandee Jeffers; grandchildren, Dayzah, Jones, Semaj Thompson, and Daniyah Anderson; sisters, Shirley (Raymond) Norman and Evelyn (Jamie) Jordan.; uncles, Theodore Good, Larry Johnson, Charles Walker, and Charles Hairston; aunts, Rita Cherrita, Gloria Anderson, and Jackie Houpe; Goddaughter, Charnita Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones that she loved dearly.

Barbara loved being around her friends and family. She will leave them with love and memories. You will be missed “Babby”.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Monday, October 17, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.

  3. My heart ❤️tears just flowing momma! No one will ever know how deep you mean to me..I was 25 homeless with a new baby two weeks out of ICU. You took me and my baby in at the shelter I was so scared but you. I fell in love with you from day one you taught me so much but the laughs the laughs the praising God together, you talking shit. I’m gonna miss you so much I love you
