Benjamin Davis

Benjamin “Chuckie” Davis Jr went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on March 1, 2022 at the age of 71. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 4, 1951 to the late Benjamin and Sally Davis Sr.

Benjamin, affectionately known as Chuckie, was very talented in various areas, he loved dog training, drawing, and spending time with family. He was known for his laid-back demeanor. He was very resilient and able to overcome anything that came his way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Benjamin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Corine “Mother Dear” Davis; parents, Benjamin and Sally Davis Sr.; daughter, Lawana Prater; sisters, Darlen Davis-Hairston, Sharon Davis, Pam Davis, and Kelly Davis; brother, Robert Davis; nephew, Dontae Hairston; special niece, Benae Butler; and uncle, Ronnie Colbert.

Benjamin is remembered by his daughter, Lavenia (Jacoby Butler) Prater-Butler; son, Tyler Glenn; sister, Katrina Davis; brother, Kevin Davis; former spouse, Saundra Prater; grandson, Dwayne Prater; granddaughter, Terriana Prater; great-granddaughters, Khile Prater and Kaylee Prater; great-grandson, Kaden Hawes; special great nephews, Tyi, Tay, Paul Jr., and Tajuan Davis; best friend Latif Shadi; and a host of other special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation 1:00pm and Funeral 2:00pm Saturday, March 12, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
