peele

Betty Lou (Bosley) Peele was born September 8, 1938 to Walter Henderson and Albertina Graham in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, April 25, 2021 in the comfort of her home.

Betty’s mother died at an early age, and she quit school to care for all 5 of her siblings. Betty retired from Columbus Public Schools after 25 years of service. She was an avid seamstress who made the entire family’s Easter attire. In her spare time, she attended Sawyer Senior Recreation Center where she painted and molded ceramics. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and coordinating her attire on a daily basis. During her illness she also enjoyed her weekly door dash food delivery from her granddaughter, Camille, as well as her weekly treats from granddaughter, Nydia. Each time Betty was asked about how many children she had, she would say-13, I raised 10 kids on the weekday and 3 on the weekend.

Betty is preceded in death by parents, Walter Henderson, and Albertina Graham; and son, Keith Allen Bosley, Sr.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory, children, Kim Bell, Michelle Netter, and Chericader Manns of Columbus, Ohio, and Roger Bosley Jr. of Griffin, Georgia; brothers, Roy (Sabrina) Kelley, Eddie (Janet) Kelley, Ronald (Margurite) Kelley, and Albert Kelley; sister, Beverly Perrin; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; close friends, Eddie Reed, Roy Wade, Willa Hicks, John Roberson, and Gloria Freeman; and hosts of nieces and nephews.

Public Visitation 10-10:30am, Private Visitation 10:30am and Funeral 11:00am Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Mom, Although the second year anniversary of your death has surpassed, my heart ❤️ still aches with saddness and grief , there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of u and wish that u we’re still here. From the notification of your illness, u asked of me a promise to remain in your home and not in a health care facility. I promised and honored your request until your last breath. Remembering your gratitude and knowing that u could depend on me has kept me at peace, I have NO regrets!
