Beulah “Peaches “Burris, age 65, came to be with the Lord on February 8, 2021, while at Wesley Glen.

Peaches was born on April 4, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio, to Inez (Burgess) Hammonds. She went to Mansfield College of Business in Columbus, Ohio and graduated with an Associates Degree. She worked as an Administrative Assistant and Secretary for Nationwide and other companies until she remarried and had another child. She retired in the late 1990’s to be a full-time mother to her three daughters. Beulah was a faithful member of The Fraternal Order of Police

Peaches was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a passion for collecting oil lamps, candle holders and vases. She loved being with family, watching movies and listening to music. Most of all, she enjoyed her own company as well, along with her old tv sit-coms (All in the Family, Andy Griffith and Golden Girls to name a few). She was a beautiful person with a beautiful spirit, inside and out. She was honest, quite sassy, and always spoke her mind and had a huge heart. Most of all she was herself.

Peaches is preceded in death by her mother, Inez Burgess; brother, Steve Hammonds, Jr; aunt, Mary Burgess; and grandmother, Susie Burgess.

Peaches is survived by her daughters, Kenya Burris, Quiana (John) Holder, and Inez Towns; grandchildren, Royal Taylor, Mi’Heir Pentorn, Quamell and Rahmel Holder, and David Fluellen Jr; siblings, Virgil Hammonds, Lili, Jimmi, Melanie, Randy, Robbie, Bruce, and Anthony Hammonds; special friends, Carnell Burris, Cisco Ashe, Pamela Poindexter, Morgan Abreha, Vernika Taylor, DJ Pentorn, and Glen Bolden; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts, friends, and loved ones.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Monday, February 15, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
