Billy Nicholson A.K.A Pecos Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois in November 14,1949 to the late Edward Nicholson and Garris Bennett. His family moved to Columbus, Ohio when he was 13 years old. He attended Franklin junior high school and Columbus East High School where he graduated in 1969.

Billy retired from John Glenn Airport (formerly known as Port Columbus). After retirement, his love for children and helping his community led him to seek further employment for Columbus Recreation and Parks Department where he worked for 7 years.

Billy preceded in death by his father; Edward Nicholson, brother; David Nicholson; son Turhan
Hale, and Ex Wife Deborah Nicholson Williams.

Billy was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and he adored his family. His smile was infectious, and his outgoing spirit was contagious. He went out of his way to ensure everyone
around him was having a good day while staying positive. He inspired those around him to the
best version of themselves. To know him was to love him.

He leaves to cherish his memory (mother) Garris Bennett (daughters), Tia Hale James (Charles)
