Billy retired from John Glenn Airport (formerly known as Port Columbus). After retirement, his love for children and helping his community led him to seek further employment for Columbus Recreation and Parks Department where he worked for 7 years.

Billy preceded in death by his father; Edward Nicholson, brother; David Nicholson; son Turhan
Hale, and Ex Wife Deborah Nicholson Williams.

Billy was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and he adored his family. His smile was infectious, and his outgoing spirit was contagious. He went out of his way to ensure everyone

There are some people in life that leave a lasting impression; Billy was one of those people. I first met Billy on the basketball court in the early eighties. At one time, we played basketball together three or four times a week. As a result, we developed a friendship that stood the test of time. He always impressed me with direct honesty. And boy could he shoot a basketball. I envied the way he was able to maintain his running, even later in life. With his beautiful smile, he was always the gentleman!

To his family, I wish my most sincere condolences for your loss.
I also feel as if I have lost a family member. May God’s love help you during the grieving period.

  19. To his family. My condolences go out to each and everyone of you. Surely he will be missed. I knew him from our high school days at Columbus East High. Graduated with him. Class of 1969. What I remember the most about Billy Nick was that he was a stand up guy.
