nesbitt

On March 10,2021, Bobby Lee Nesbitt (Dean) was called from this life to eternal rest. Dean was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 28, 1963, to his loving parents Bobby N. Nesbitt and Alice Marie (Thompson) Nesbitt.

His formal education was through the Columbus City School System where he graduated from Independence High School.

Dean’s parental guidance and rearing was from his beloved father, who was his role model, confidant, traveling buddy and best friend. Dean was always a Daddy’s boy, he never left the nest, still lived at home. Where his dad was, you could be sure to find Dean and his big brother, Nino, not far away.

Dean was a friendly and outgoing person with a big infectious smile that people seemed to gravitate to and enjoyed being in his presence. He loved his nephews and niece and enjoyed spending time with them, just hanging out, playing card games and watching sports. He liked spoiling them and found joy in his role as Uncle Dean. It was the simple things like picking them up from school and taking them to their favorite fast- food place.

Dean loved to cook and became excellent at it. Preparing Sunday Dinner, trying out new recipes and sharing his special covered dishes with his Aunt Nancy was his delight. Dean was a devoted son and care giver to his Dad. He took pride in caring for him and catering to his every wish.

Dean confessed Christ as his personal Savior when he was a teenager and was baptized at the Triedstone Baptist Church by Bishop Jerome H. Ross, Sr. His spiritual foundation was nurtured by his loving and Godfearing Grandmother, Mama Grace and Great Grandmother, Mama Minnie.

Dean was preceded in death by his loving Mother, Alice Marie Nesbitt, Maternal Grandmother, Lucille Thompson and Uncle Joe Thompson; Paternal Grandparents, Ernest and Gracie Nesbitt; Great Grandmother, Minnie Stewart; Uncle Lemuel Nesbitt; Aunts, Minnie Morgan, Mary Edmondson, Beesigye Falani; First Cousins, Reginald Morgan, Duncan Eric Nesbitt, Todd Nesbitt, Elder Michael Nesbitt, Evelyn Nesbitt Lee-Fox, Dr. Ardis Edmondson-Holt.

Precious memories of Dean will be forever cherished by his beloved Father, Bobby N. Nesbitt, Bonus Mom, Charlene Nesbitt-Strickland, Brothers, Artie Joe Nesbitt (Nino), Roderick Russel; Nephews, Nino (Kalyn) Nesbitt, Nino Jr.; Niece, Savvy Nesbitt; Aunts, Nancy (Mike) Winfield, Veronica Nesbitt, Christine Thompson; Uncles, Larry Thompson, Eddie Thompson, Dr Sokoto Fulani, James Edmondson and a multitude of dear cousins and many, many friends.

Private Visitation 10:00 AM and Private Funeral Service 11:00 AM Monday, March 22, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Mask and Social Distancing required. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Uncle Bob, Nino and my Nesbitt Family,

Lord knows we will truly miss Cousin Dean. I will always hold dear those days we hung out in the late 70s to early 80s before I joined the Air Force. We would go to Larry’s East, 2001, Peaches, etc. and dance the night away. Occasionally, I would go to Triedstone Baptist Church where he would sit in his regular spot. I miss and will always cherish his memory. Time got away from us, but his memory lives on.
