Brandon Deshon McEwen, age 25, departed this life on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. He was born on September 14, 1997, in Columbus, Ohio the youngest son of Tracy (Blake) and David McEwen.

Educated in the Columbus Public Schools, Brandon attended Brookhaven High School and was a proud “Bearcat”. Upon the closing of Brookhaven, he transferred to Mifflin High school where he graduated the class of “2015”. He enjoyed playing Football and basketball. Brandon had a way with his effervescent personality, pure and compassionate heart to make anyone feel special. His infectious personality and ability to pull the good out of anyone he encountered will be greatly missed.

Brandon leaves in God’s care his loving and devoted mother, Tracy D. Blake-McEwen; father, David McEwen; 2 brothers, Blake McEwen and Davanuqa McEwen; sisters, Cortina Vance, Latoya Jackson, Davicia Swift and Jacquel McEwen Aker; god-son, Curtis Armstrong, III; a host of nieces, nephews; aunts, Laurie Blake and Regina Blake; uncles, Llewellyn “Wayne” Jones, Sr., Chester Coburn; a host of cousins including special cousins, Natasha Gist, Cassandra (Harold) Gilmore, Sabin (Jeremy) Blake, Lawrence Blake, Anndreall Russell, LaRashia Jones, Llewellyn “Darrell” Jones, II, Jeffery D. Holmes and Sharrone Terrell, Shamarion Brumley, Cloteal Brumley-Jones and Courtney Brumley; friends who were his “brothers”, Kevin, Marquise and Tyran Greenhow, Khaleed and Khalor Franklin, Chaz Jackson, J’sonn, Jalen, Jomanee Harris, Lei’Tonn, Ne’Tronne and De’Quawn Backus, Curtis Armstrong, Reco Wright, Que Vontae Price, Tayvin Granger, Johnathan, Jr. and Jalen Wade; other special friends, Victoria Culp, Robyn Moore, Rikki Williams, Daisia Wynn, Bethany Robinson, Terrica Devault, Azariah Price, Regina and Paul Harris, Kezia and Keith Franklin, Johnathan Wade, Sr., Raconda Wade, Tonya Robinson, Tamesha Harriston, Cheo Greenhow, The Brittany Hills Community, the Brookhaven and the Johnson Park families.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lonzo and Mollie Blake, Sr., Charles E. and Goldie McEwen; aunts, Carolyn J. Blake – Nicholson, Vanessa Blake and Beverly McEwen – Brumley; uncles, Earl Turner, Wayne Blake, Sr., Lawrence Ray Blake, Lonzo Blake, Jr. and Jimmie Nicholson; cousins, Wayne “Bug” Blake, Jr., Kirk Williams and Dion Williams.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to every one of you for showing your support, love and care during this difficult stage.

Visitation for Brandon will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM at True Love Ministries, 1634 Minnesota Avenue, Columbus, OH 43211. The family will greet friends from 10AM – 11AM with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio.
