Brenda Amathia Jones, age 57. Sunrise April 28, 1965, and sunset April 7, 2023. She was born to James Saunders and Ella Mae Jones in Fayetteville, West Virginia.

Brenda’s family moved to Columbus, where she graduated from Linden Mckinley High School in 1984. She had 16 siblings, including a twin sister, and was a mother of five. Brenda enjoyed being part of a large, loving family, and spending time with her sons, daughters, brothers and sisters. All who knew her can attest that she was a devoted grandmother who gave her love freely and fully to her grandchildren.

Brenda loved to listen to music and to clean. Those simple pleasures brought her joy and put a smile on her face. Brenda was one of the best listeners and she always gave you comfort, no matter the situation, no matter who was right or wrong. Compassion came to her naturally.

She was no stranger to sacrifice and was always willing to be the one who took less so that others would have more. The kindness in heart will never, ever be forgotten. All who loved her will miss her greatly.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Mae Jones; brother Henry Jones; and sister Roberta Mathews.

Brenda is survived by her siblings, Ernest, Mamie, Ernestine, Harold, Carolyn, Stacy, Martha, Linda, Donna, Joy, David and Constance Jones, Robert and Bill; loving children, Charles Hariston, Johnny, Ciera, Alicia and Robert Payne; loving grandchildren, Anasia, Jeremiah, Carnell, Charles, Har’Moni, Rahnyiah, Johnny, Neveah, Amya, Norah, Dezmond, King’James, Mi’Kayla, Mi’Veah, Mi’yah, Mason, Miasia and Marco.
