Brenda Joyce Curtis was born on September 25, 1947 in Columbus, GA. Brenda’s family migrated North to Canton, OH for better opportunities. Brenda remained in Canton, Oh until the age of 29. In 1978, Brenda took her children and began her life in Columbus, OH.

Anyone who met Brenda, soon learned she had a passion for those that suffered from addiction. She devoted her life to helping other women live a life of sobriety. She was a case manager at Amythest for many years before she retired.

Brenda was a no-nonsense person that would “tell it like it is”, but she did it in love. She was an excellent cook and known for her sweet potato pies.

Brenda completed her final assignment on July 17, 2020. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd A. and Julia Curtis; brother, James Curtis; and sister, Shirley Nucklos.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memory, children, LaShon Curtis-Barrino and Jermaine Curtis; brothers, Calvin and Boyd D. Curtis; Godson, Monte Lige; lifelong friend, Jean Lige; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
