Carol A Hawkins

Momo brown

Carol A. Hawkins was born August 21, 1946, to Robert and Gaynell Mosby in Wheelwright, Kentucky. Carol was the eldest daughter of her 7 siblings, and she was the matriarch of the family. Carol’s family moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1959 where she graduated from East High School in 1963.

After graduating high school, Carol met and married Thomas Edward Hawkins Jr., and together they had 3 children as issue of their marriage. They later divorced and Carol devoted her time to her family. Carol later worked for Anheuser Busch for 25 years where she retired. She later started her own catering
business where she cooked for any and everybody. Catering is where she found her calling… Giving.

Carol truly had a servant’s heart. She opened her home and heart to multitudes and fed masses. Carol joined Rhema Christian Center and served on the hospitality committee, and she also was deeply devoted to serving at The Lord Jesus Christ’s Church.

Carol A. Hawkins went home to be with the Lord November 24, 2022. She left peacefully at home surrounded by family on her favorite holiday- Thanksgiving.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Mosby and Gaynell Miller, Stepfather David Tartt, sisters: Vivian Mickens and Donna Sheffield, brothers: Samuel Porter and Randy Mosby.

Carol left to cherish her memory, daughter Judge Monica E. Hawkins, sons Thomas E. (Arnell) Hawkins III, and Darryl S. (Tammy) Hawkins, sisters Stella Smith and Debra Harper, brother David Tartt, Grandchildren: Dionte’ J. (Jessica) Johnson, DeAngelo (Nicole) Smith Darriel Hawkins, Darrell Smith, Da’Mika Hawkins, Caleb Williamson, Tyler Hawkins, and Great grandchildren: Royce Hawkins, Dionte’ Johnson, Jr., Markus Burton Jr. Aarin and Amari Johnson, DeAngelo Smith II, Jamir Johnson, Da’Nyla Hawkins, and a host of other relatives and friends. Attempting to put into words to express my thoughts and sympathy is something that I simply can’t do.

To lose the matriarch of the family leaves an absence that will linger for eternity, and can only be comforted with memories, loves, and holding on to all that she has poured into you all.

I love you Best and i will continue to keep you in my prayers and ask the Lord to provide you and your family with everlasting comfort during this trying time.

As time continues to go on I pray for serenity, peace, and a calm mind and body.
