Carroll L. Pritchett

Carroll Lorenzo Pritchett was born in Crumpler, West Virginia, to the late Livingston and Coakley Pritchett on July 11, 1949. Carroll loved to talk and meet new people. His military background made him firm and direct, but those that knew Carroll knew he had a big heart and a jovial demeanor.

Carroll graduated from Henry County Schools in 1967. After graduating from high school, Carroll enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country for over 20 years. He retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant in 1993. After retiring from the Marines, Carroll explored new career options and began working for the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles as a supervisor for the telecom department. Carroll retired from his second career in 2014.

Carroll was married to Doris Pritchett (Divorced), and to this union was born their daughter Natanya Pritchett. Carroll leaves to cherish his memories brothers and sisters- Livingston Pritchett, Jr, Gevendin P. Lewis, Marlena P. Dickerson, Stephenia D. Tinsley, Larry Pritchett, Lardenia P. Campbell, Barbara P. Smith (Mark), and Vernetta P. Dotson. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends that became like family. He also leaves behind a special friend Judy Fannin.

Carroll transitioned from this life to be with God on February 9, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Livingston and Coakley Pritchett, siblings Ruth P. Howard, Joseph D. Pritchett, and several nephews and cousins.

Visitation 1:00 PM and Funeral Service 2:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

Interment at Arlington National Cemetery.

  11. Carroll was not only a great supervisor, but a wonderful and understanding friend. I missed him when he retired but i was lucky to once and awhile I would run into him. Now it will take be a longer time to see him but I know someday we will meet at Heavens gate. He was so much like by brother I was always comfortable around him and to talk to him about my problems. The earth has lost a wonderful person but heaven has truly been blessed.
