He would often relive his days as a driver with humorous stories and one could always count on him to tell you the quickest route to get around town.
He loved to pitch horse shoes, fish, and especially bowl. He bowled up until he was 84 years old. On Sunday’s he could always be found hanging out with ” The Fellas” watching his Cleveland Browns. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was the proud grandfather of Brandon (Brittany) Nowlin, Destini (Malia)Nowlin, De’metre Forney, Phillip Nowlin Jr, Shamika Preston, Shannon Preston, Baileigh Nowlin, and Aaren Nowlin. Great Grandfather to Ajani Preston, Braylon, Bryden, and Brittyn Nowlin. He also leaves behind an Older Brother William (Doreatha) Nowlin. The two brothers were very close and could often be found enjoying a game of checkers. Charles made many friends throughout his life, such as Linda Fischer, Ralph Hudgins, Calvin Barnett, and Barbara Brown. He always enjoyed a good laugh, a good meal or a good cup of coffee. He will be missed by everyone who crossed his path. He was affectionately called ” Pops” by many, lending testimony to his character of always looking out for anyone the best he could. He fought a good fight and earned a much deserved rest…SEMPER FI
