Chontru Kanee Jefferson-Wentworth, 45, passed this life on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at her home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Jefferson-Wentworth was born on May 29, 1976 to the late Walter L. “Wal-C” Jefferson and Susie Shaw in Mansfield and was a lifetime resident. Chontru was a member of the Mansfield Senior High School class of 1995. Chontru attended North Central State College graduating in 2005 with an Associates Degree in Social Work. Twelve years ago Chontru opened up her own childcare service, “Ms. Tru’s Tiny Tots”. As a breast cancer survivor Chontru became very active in fundraising for breast cancer. She founded the “Turn Up The Pink Turn On The Fight” an annual luncheon fundraiser in October. A well supported event with speakers and “Truly” a pink affair! Chontru also did the “Breast Cancer Awareness Walk” with great support from her family and friends. As long as her daughter and nieces were of age she coached their softball teams for 4 years through the City of Mansfield’s Park and Recreation Department. Chontru was a member of the New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church.
Chontru is survived by her husband: Plessie Wentworth, II, Mansfield; 2 children: Tiarra and TyQuan Vickers, Mansfield; Mother: Susie Shaw, Mansfield; 5 brothers: LeAunti Jefferson, Shaquille Jefferson, and Charles Love, Mansfield; JaMario O’Neal, Palm Dessert, California, and Diallo Dulin, Crestline; 6 grandchildren: Leon and Leyana Robinson, Tylan, Tyleah, Tymirr, and Tyanna Vickers; sister-in-law: Kristin Shaw, Mansfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to her father, Chontru was also preceded by 2 brothers, Reginald Shaw I, and Andre Adley, and sister-in-law Chayla Prude-Jefferson.
Funeral services will be held at the Oasis Of Love Church 190 Chester Ave, Friday, at 12 noon, with her Pastor Patricia Sullivan officiating. Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Mansfield Cemetery.
Ministry of Comfort entrusted the MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE MANSFIELD 753 McPherson St. (formerly Williams Funeral Services). Masks will be required with social distancing.

Susie It is with much sadness that I write this offer of comfort and encouragement. I know the love you had for your baby and how hard this must be, but this is not what God wanted for you. Never was death a part of God’s purpose. So he has made it possible for you to see your loved ones again through the resurrection hope. I pray that the beautiful memories you have will lift you going forward and that God will provide you much needed comfort in the days to come. I love you
