On the evening of Monday, July 22, 2019, Christian Lee Bowers passed away in Columbus, Ohio. Chris was 38 years of age.

Christian (Chris) was a graduate of Marion Franklin High School where he was the Assistant Captain of the football team, he also ran track and played on the soccer team. Chris loved the game of pool as a youngster, and had participated in a city –competition, winning first place. During Chris school years, he was often an Honor Roll student and an exceptional writer; educators had presumed him to one day become an author. He was also a graduate of Northland Career Center in the field of Accounting. Chris worked in General Labor, and could do anything he put his mind to.

Chris was a very special young man. He had always been set apart, quiet and kind in nature. He was intelligent, and if you took the time to speak with him, you would see his beautiful smile and feel his gesture of love and understanding. Growing up, Chris was closest to his sister Chanelle, they were “two of a kind”, a special combination bonded by God’s love and care. Chanelle always took care of her little brother.
He also shared a very close relationship with his grandmother, Aileen G. Smith – Berger who nurtured him in the admiration of God’s love. The highlight of his life was spending time with his children. His eyes would light up whenever he was around them; they brought him so much joy.

Chris was baptized at Rehoboth Temple Church of Christ in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Sunday School as a child and was a faithful member. Chris came into the calling of the Lord at a small church where he testified that he received the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

Chris was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 21, 1981. He was the youngest child of Charlene Gauze and Leonard Bowers. Preceded in death by grandfather, Charles Riley Smith; grandfather, Leonard Bowers Sr.; grandmother; Edith Bowers; step- grandfather, Spencer Berger
