Clarence Henry Gray was born February 15, 1939 to the late Ray Gray and Katie Tandie in Louisville, Kentucky. He departed this life on Sunday, January 17, 2021 peacefully at home.

Clarence grew up in Louisville before venturing out at a young age to move to Columbus, Ohio where he worked and lived for the rest of his life. He worked and retired from the Timken Company. After retiring, he opened, owned, operated Ron’s Detail Shop for many years. It was his pride and joy and was the community business that stood out in the neighborhood it served.

Clarence was a “man’s man”, the epitome of provider and protector: taking care of his family was paramount. He was well loved and loved well.

Clarence was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Myrtice Gray; baby girl, Martine “Peanut” Gray; son, Lazeth Moore; daughter, Karen Moore; and sister, Barbara Nell Pittman.

Clarence is survived by his children, Justin Gray, Todd Gray, Lavern Moore, Nita Moore, Clarence Gray II, Debra Gray, Kenneth Whiting, and Nalea Whiting-Cobb; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
