Claudia M. Posey, age 95, took a flight out Saturday evening as a result of renal and heart failure. She was surrounded by her family and caregiver. Claudia was born in Shreveort, Louisiana on September 19, 1925 to John Henry and Adell Jones. Claudia graduated from Bossier High School in Louisiana.
Living in the south like many others, she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she married Henry W. Posey. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked many jobs until she found her passion, cooking at OSU Hospital, for over 35 years where she made many friends. Many of the younger workers called her mother. She was very giving and willingly took in strangers and offered a helping hand where needed. Claudia was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was a member of the Deaconess Board. The Royal Aids Society, and Sunday School Class #9 and Los Amigas. After retiring, Claudia loved to travel around the states with various clubs and visiting relatives.
Claudia is preceded in death by her husband of 70 plus years; her parents, John Henry and Adell Jones; and siblings, Eula B. Anderson, John H. Jones Jr., Ida Price, and Dorothy Crawley. Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Dr. Sue A (Theodore) Howard, (Las Vegas, NV), Lynette (Dennis) Goodman, (Griffin, GA), and Terri Posey Dover, Columbus, OH; granddaughter, Tamika Barker; great granddaughter’s, Diamond Bailey and Nikyah Barker; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and surrogate children; and special friends, Olivia Blankenship and Jeffery Maitlan; special grandson, Tony Commadore.
Public Visitation 10:00am, Private Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Saturday, May 22, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.

Zandria and Walter offer our condolences to the family of Aunt Claudia. We are sorry we can’t be there personally, since Zan has been in the hospital since April 28. We love you guys. She lived a long and fruitful life. God has called her home to Rest. Prayer offered for the family.

To Sue,Lynette,Terri & Family, I just happenend to read about the passing of Mrs Posey. She was a very nice lady. I will always cherish the memories of her and my late mother Mary Shepherd. They would ride together going to their Los Amigos meetings. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you all. May the Lord comfort you during this time of loss. God Bless!! Sue, Lynette and Terri you are in our thoughts and prayers. Aunt Claudia was a very sweet Aunt with a kind spirit. I enjoyed hearing some of the stories she would tell about their childhood ( her and our Father, Bud) as she would call him” Brother”.
