Clifford Young was born July 14, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio to Samuel and Mary Young. Blessed with 83 years of age, our beloved Clifford departed this life on August 19, 2021.

Clifford graduated from East High School. He completed basic training courses for the Civil Air Patrol US Air Force auxiliary 801st Cadet Squadron. He enlisted in the United States Navy. He attended Automotive Mechanics School. After completion of mechanic school he was assigned to the Seebee’s Station in New York and Rhodes Island.

Clifford served tours in Cuba, Antarctic, London England, Yokohana Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and Bermuda.

Clifford retired from the Navy in July 1977. Clifford resided in Bermuda until his return to Columbus in 2005.

Clifford’s hobbies included bowling and traveling.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Mary Youngs, wives, Anna Dudley (Dudley) Young and Lois (Maude) Young and brother, Samuel Young.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Clifford Young Jr.; daughters, Patricia Brown; brother, Raymond Young, sister, Joyce Young, nephews and nieces, Carl and Carol Symour and Samuel and Teonia Hughes; three grandchildren; special friends, Althea Norris, Elaine White, Elizabeth Stoval and Ella Jean Collins. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

 

Private Visitation 10:00 AM and Private Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday, September 2, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
