Collyn “Minni” MyLove Kirk-Hawkins was born September 9, 2017, in Columbus, Ohio to Lovelee Lawanda Lynne Kirk and David Christen Hawkins. This lovable, precious bundle of joy slipped away during her nap on Tuesday morning, February 18, 2020, in Columbus.

Collyn always looked so pretty with a big beautiful smile on her face. She was the spitting image of her mother and grandfather, thus the nickname Minni.

She fought an amazing fight with Trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome) and defied odds surviving two years, five months and 14 days, when her given life expectancy was to be perhaps a day, if at all. Everyday her family was blessed with a living miracle from God. After an abundance of pokes, several surgeries/procedures, many feeding tubes, countless trachs, multiple resuscitation, and subpar home care nurses, today she is completely healed, painless and in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

Collyn was honored during the week of February 11-14, 2020, by the Patches of Light organization as a one of the receptions of the Rock Your Journey Essay for children with life changing conditions. She was also a student at Easter Seals Central and Southeast Ohio in Hilliard.

Collyn is resting in heavenly peace with her grandfather, Robert Kirk; great-grandmothers, Martha Kirk and Wanda Zimmerman; great-grandfathers Hosley Kirk and Leonard Zimmerman.

Surviving sweet, sweet Collyn, is her loving, devoted and dedicated mother, Lovelee Lawanda Kirk; father, David Christen Hawkins; her doting sister, Cameron Kirk-Hawkins; her other siblings, Christopher Hawkins, Christen Hawkins, Jovanni Hawkins, Robert Akins; her maternal grandmother, Deborah McCoy; PawPaw, Harold McCoy; paternal grandparents, Gloria Connally and Michael (Donna) Hawkins; uncles, Dennis Kirk, Daryl McCoy, Xander Raymond; aunts, Allyson Kirk, Andrea Hawkins; great-aunts, Malicsie Kirk and Twila Fultz; great-uncles, Michael (Tonia) Zimmerman, and Dwayne Zimmerman; cousins, Michael, Matthew (Dreanne), Chelsea (Derroyn); Michael B, Cary, Natasha; Melissa, Leah, Justice, Jahlen, Jordan, Jaivon, Matthew Jr., Josiah, Matayla, Nala, Jamison; her bonus sister, LaTazia Davis; her bonus aunts, Kendra (Dana) Kearns, Keisha Bates, Brandy Byrant; Godmother, Ieshia Hairston; Godfather, Jarrell McGill; other family members (Zimmerman, Reeves, Holcomb, Ragland); Antioch Baptist Church, the doctors, nursing and support staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Visitation 5:00pm and Funeral 6:00pm Friday, February 28, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church, 1015 Chambers Road.
