Condolence from Jackie Lowe on October 29th, 2021 8:35 am

We all know what an exceptional person Cristy was–brilliant, creative, and compassionate. She worked tirelessly to improve the lives of children and to teach those of us who worked with children how to mirror her talents. She was also my cherished friend. We worked hard together and played hard together. I will remember our many adventures, especially one night in Philadelphia when, hopelessly lost, we drove in circles for what seemed like hours, laughing at our shared lack of any sense of direction. I will cherish our last trip together-a week at Cape Cod when we not only shared long walks on the beach, but also managed to lock ourselves out of our rented house.

I offer my deep condolences to Bud, Charlie, and Amy and to everyone else touched by Cristy’s life. I am thankful that Cristy had Bud by her side.

Condolence from Becky Wray on November 6th, 2021 10:58 pm

I count it such a privilege to have known Cristy and worked with her in bringing an effective childcare model to the residential program where I was employed. The year was 1996 when she and her team arrived on campus. It was immediately obvious that she was an expert in her field. I found her to be relentless in her pursuit of excellence, tireless in her commitment to making life better for kids in residential care in addition to having an enormous capacity for fun and recreation. I learned much from her professional expertise and grew to have an enormous respect for her professionally. We also became good friends when she was on campus, when after work, we would exercise and have meals together. I appreciated her compassionate nature, enjoyed her fun loving side, and admired her keen intellect. Her life both personally and professionally was very
impactful. I believe Cristy’s contributions to her field were extraordinary and that her life was one of deep significance. May you, her family, find peace and consolation in knowing her life was well lived. God bless each one of you.
